FEELING: Amazingly, a little bit more balanced! A few weekends of minimal tours/responsibilities combined with a trend of getting home from my weekday job by 7pm has left me feeling like I’m just the tiniest bit more in control of my life. You will recall, of course, that my summer had been swirling to a mad crescendo of being over-scheduled across three different jobs, with Election Day Worker trainings, doctors’ appointments, and pet-sitting wedged in-between. Every move, every action, had to be carefully planned out but LOOK! Here I am, on a Sunday morning, at a chic coffee shop in Bushwick, enjoying a coffee with A FLOWER on it! I really am a “stop-and-smell-the-roses” kind of person, always trying to find the little bits of joy when I can — appreciating the sunset on my walk home from a late day of work, or smelling the leaves in the park as I walk to therapy from the bus stop — so having time to actually seek out joy has made a huge difference overall.

WATCHING: I am. OBSESSED. With Fixer Upper. Yes, I know it’s the whitest and grossest shit ever. I cannot stop watching it. I’m disappointed in myself for you. I’ve also been watching reruns of Friends with my boyfriend, which is a show he’s seen multiple times and I never really committed to watching, but truly enjoy.
.
LISTENING TO: Literally EVERY Parcast podcast. I’m a huge fan.
.
WORKING ON: I mean, work? I had a free day the other weekend and I pulled out my sewing machine, and made a few repairs on some clothes that really needed some help. The only other work I’ve been doing outside of actual, you know, WORK, is the usual stuff: groceries, laundry, keeping my room clean and my life together.
.
THINKING ABOUT: Only work. Only work.
.
EATING: Ok well, I discovered these AWESOME TJ products: there’s the 3 Seed Beet Crackers, which have been rocking my hummus. Then, there’s the Banh Mi Bowl, a prepared food item, which I discovered with my boyfriend in New Jersey and have been picking up TONS OF every time I go shopping! They’re DELICIOUS! Next time I have time to COOK, I can definitely see myself trying to make these for myself… (but it might work out cheaper just to buy them pre-made).

LOOKING FORWARD TO: I LOVE AUTUMN!!! I’m looking forward to cooler temperatures (I feel like I’m always “Looking Forward To” more mild temperatures). DragCon is coming up next weekend, and my best friend is coming up from Baltimore to go with me for the third year in a row! And HALLOWEEN!!!
.
MAKING ME HAPPY: Ok so, I’ve scheduled this to post as I’m coming back from a huge family gathering upstate, which could be going AWESOME but could also be a DISASTER so, I guess we’ll see? I’m enjoying a more relaxed schedule!
