5 Fandom Friday: Characters I Want To Dress Up As For Halloween

Comic Con has come and gone, and Halloween is near!  Here are the costumes I would be wearing on Halloween *if* I didn’t have to work that night and *if* I had the energy and funds to pull them off!

1.  Data, Star Trek: The Next Generation  oh, of course I would fall for the Android!  Why are the robots always my favourite?  Is it offensive to call Data a “robot”? And is there a repulsion-attraction thing happening here that needs to be investigation by professional help?  I don’t know.  But I do know that I love Data, and want to honour him with genderbent costume homage!!!

2.  Old Gregg, The Mighty Boosh  Do you love me?  How about some Bailey’s from a shoe?  This costume would be so over-the-top and so much effort for practically nobody to get the reference.

3.  Really Rosie,
Really Rosie and the Nutshell Kids  I watched this video so much when I was a kid.  I definitely wanted to be as fabulous and confident as Rosie.  Maybe I could muster that for a single night, say, Halloween?  Her outfit is fantastic, would be easy to pull together, and if even ONE person got my reference, it would be DAY.  MADE.

4.  Columbia from Rocky Horror Picture Show  or any character from that movie, really!  Oh I would even dress up as Eddie if I thought I could pull it off – his was my favourite song the first time I saw the movie.  But Columbia has a cloying sweetness and A GOLD TOP HAT and you can’t beat that eyebrow game!!

5.  Frenchie from
Grease  most specifically, the pink-haired “Beauty School Dropout” outfit would be AMAZING and this one might actually be a future Comic Con cosplay TBH.  Frenchie is just super sweet and wants to help but…mutilated earlobes instead.  I love Grease so much and I think I am most like Frenchie.  I mean, I’m not cool enough to be Rizzo, but I’m also certainly not as nice as Sandy!

  1. I love the Frenchie idea! I'm actually being Rizzo this year and my friend is being Sandy! I think Grease would be a perfect group costume.

    1. OH YES – there are some seriously cool Pink Ladies (and more in Grease 2!) That would be THE MOST AMAZING group costume!!!

  2. Awww Frenchie is such a cutie, that's such a great idea xoxo

    1. Thanks! I wanna be a Pink Lady, but my boobs are too small for Jan. 🙁

  3. Frenchie is such a great character! Awesome choice 🙂

    1. I feel like I would need to wear a wig for any really accurate costume. I have such weird distinctive hair, that in order to dress up as a character, I would have to wear a wig, so Frenchie is perfect for me!

  4. I love all of these! Old Gregg would be so much fun to dress up as, even if no one gets the reference.

    1. I would carry around a bottle of Bailey's for people to sip. It would be the most fun!!!

  5. I love Frenchie – she was always my favorite in Grease.

    1. She really is the nicest one. If you had to pick one of the Pink Ladies to befriend, it would be her! She's caring, humble, just watch your earlobes…

  6. Frenchie would be so much fun with the pink wig!

    1. Right?!? I have very distinctive hair, so there are few costumes I could rock without a wig. My hair is half brown, half blonde, so I'm pretty much restricted to Rogue from X-Men, or Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmations which might actually be easy to pull off and a lot of fun!

  7. I love all of these but: Mr. Data and Frenchie are the ones that hit me! 😀 I loved Mr.Data (TNG girl here), and I loved Frenchie's style in the movie… so 😀 I'd loved that <3

    1. Data is totally my favourite character, and that was a hard choice to make. I love how concerned he is about being human, but how he just loves and revels in being himself! He totally nerds out over Shakespeare and Sherlock Holmes, which is adorable.
