Trader Joe’s Tuesday: Dark Chocolate Edamame

Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Edamame

Tastes Like:  flaky, savory crunch with a hint of bitter dark chocolate.  it almost reminds me of “crunchy” or pretzel M&Ms, but salty and sophisticated.

Great With:  Trader Joe’s Yogurt-Covered Raisins and salted almonds.  The soft sweetness of the raisins is the perfect foil – plus it looks chic in black and white.  The almonds round out an amazing trail mix by lending their buttery crunch and flaky shell.

Perfect For:  food snobs who pronounce “edamame” by stretching out every vowel sound.  anyone with “chocolate ennui” from your boring, average chocolate offerings.  casual snackers who might not get enough protein (oops).

Must Know:  carton labeled “no gluten ingredients used”, however, this product does not appear on any of the online lists for dietary restrictions.  if you care about what’s in it, read the ingredients!  you’d think they’d be at least vegetarian, if not vegan, but that’s up to you and what you consider “vegan”, I guess.

Costs:  $3.49 + a little bit of your dignity when you realize you’ve eaten nearly the whole container before you’ve even finished unloading the rest of your groceries.
