Friday, June 2nd, 2017: the day there was NO BOOZE in the house.
On Friday, I had a little bit of work to finish up from home, so I spent the rest of the day doing errands. Send invoices, replace the SodaStream tank, and BUY BOOZE.
I walked over to my favorite liquor store on Manhattan Ave. which was playing my favorite George Michael song BTW and bought:
a bottle of vodka
a bottle of gin
and a bottle of Old Overholt whiskey (my BF’s fave)
So I came back home, put the vodka in the freezer (like you do?) and made myself a gin-lavender-lemonade to sip while completing some writing assignments and cutting up veggies for dinner prep.
Hours later, my boyfriend comes home after stopping to get a haircut after work, and he’s carrying a black bag with him. You know what a black bag means: LIQUOR STORE!!!
“What’d ya get?” I ask, snoopily.
“Why do you ask?” he deftly deflects my snoop, and he pulls out of the bag:
a bottle of vodka
a bottle of gin
and a bottle of Old Overholt whiskey (his fave)
“Well,” I say, “It just so happens that I went shopping today and I bought:
a bottle of vodka
a bottle of gin
and a bottle of Old Overholt whiskey! Your fave!
I guess it goes to show you,” I sing-songed, winding up for an epic pun, “that Great Minds Drink Alike.”
The End.
