FEELING: Ahem, WordPress. Annoyed at this weird change? I legiterally have no idea what I’m doing, I just pray to sweet Satan that this post makes it out of the gates in readable format.
Um, I’m okay. Feeling my grip on sanity loosen ever-so-slightly now that I’m not working regularly, and I’ve come back from a way-too-long vacation. I have a difficult time establishing stability for myself, when it isn’t imposed on me by work or other obligations. I have a tendency to become unmoored very easily by long stretches of unstructured time. On top of that, the post-Holiday winter doldrums are particularly poisonous in chilly NYC, so please, keep me in your thoughts. Send me disgusting murder podcasts and documentaries to keep me occupied.

WATCHING: I have seen A LOT of movies and TV shows over the past month (past few DAYS!) and I will state controversially: both Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are absolutely Christmas movies. Also, I’m absolutely LOVING RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4! I am honestly on the edge of my seat every episode!

LISTENING TO: I’m completely caught up on all my usual suspects: Dark Poutine, Beyond Bizarre True Crime, Last Podcast on the Left, Casefile, Canadian True Crime, Sword and Scale. I’ve also been enjoying Assassinations, on the Parcast network. Shorter episodes, but really compelling storytelling!

READING: Do you think I’ll pick up a book this year? I’m hoping to! After the busy month I’ve had and all my travels, I’m so far behind on reading all of my favorite blogs, so I’ve got that to do!

WORKING ON: Catching up on all the things I let slide while I was busy. Today, I have a date with some bleach to touch up my roots, which is SO badly needed! I’m seeing a dentist later this month, I’m getting blood drawn this week, and my room hasn’t been cleaned since (last year) OMIGOD!

THINKING ABOUT: Oof, what to do with all this time on my hands? Of course, as soon as I say that, work picks up, and I’m busy-busy-busy!

EATING: Still, a lot of egg sandwiches! Being on holiday, I’ve been eating a lot of random stuff. At my parents’ house, we had a great salmon dinner, and some sushi from a local grocery store (WEGMANS!), then at my boyfriend’s house, we’ve been ordering lots of Indian food (chana masala!) and – Don’t Judge Me – Domino’s gluten-free pizza!

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Oof honestly getting back to work. I miss feeling useful and needed. I’m already looking forward to Spring, because we’re having a run of sunny days that have got me excited for warmer weather (I KNOW!!!) I’m also really excited for the upcoming 2020 presidential election. Elizabeth Warren has already thrown her hat in the ring! I can’t wait to #DumpTrump and get America back!

MAKING ME HAPPY: These sunny days! Scented candles! New pajamas! Loungewear and cozy socks. UNHhhh! Candles and plants. Sleeping in — the upside of not being busy. Putting together outfits (mostly that revolve around pink sweaters).
