Download Prisma *Free* App for iPhone, And You’re Welcome

Seriously, kiddos, you should do yourselves a favor and download the Prisma app for iPhone IMMEDIATELY.

The Prisma app is FREEEEE for iPhones (and I’m told an Android version is forthcoming!). There are 34 filters to choose from! Based on famous art styles, you can make the filter more or less intense out of a scale of 100 (which is very specific and helpful, honestly).

Now for the downsides:

1.The filters don’t stay in one specific order every time (like they do in Instagram, for instance), so the filter you choose most often will always show up first. This isn’t such a bad thing, since it takes a while to get a feel for the filters anyway, but it did add a layer of unnecessary confusion to an otherwise very simple and user-friendly app.

2.  Prisma can only deal with square images (hearkening back to the early days of Instagram!), so make sure your starter image crops down neatly.

3. The “Prisma” watermark in the bottom corner is kind of annoying. You go to all this effort to make an outstanding image, then you clutter it up with a watermark? Irritating, but I guess that’s life.

Okay, selfie time!

So far, my favorite filters are Gothic, Dreams, Mark, and The Scream.  If you’re already doing Prisma, hit me up and tell me how much you luuuurrrrrvvve it!
