5 Fandom Friday: Blogging Resolutions

There’s always room for improvement!  And while I’ve been mostly pleased with my commitment to my blog this year, I have some clear ideas of how to improve it for next year:

1.  MOAR PICTURES  I’ve been pretty lax about picture-taking in general, and I love looking at other blogs with juicy pictures of REAL PEEPUL living REAL LIVES.  I’m a firm believer in the blogging world of not copying other blogs, but recognizing what you admire about other blogs and striving to emulate that with your own.  And following this formula, I should incorporate more pictures.  Capiche?

2.  MOAR BOOKS  I’ve read so many great books (and comics!) that I’m so very passionate about, and I really want to share them all with my readers!  I am aware, of course, that my book posts are among the absolute least popular feature of my blog, so it also follows that I would like to connect with other book bloggers to find out how to network a love of books and use it to drive up interest and generate discussion on AiM!  (Um, yeah, that sentence was full of shlocky buzzwords, I know.)  Here’s what it boils down to:  everyone loves a good book recommendation.  Right?  And I could go on and on about my favourites.  Right?  How do we make these two truisms jive?

3.  MOAR COMMENTS  I love reading blogs and so often, I enjoy posts.  But maybe I actually comment once a week!  BAD BAD BLOGGER.  Commenting is possibly more crucial than content!  Let’s get out there and make the magic happen!  The first step belongs to YOU.  I’m in, are you?

4.  MOAR DIFFERENT
Last year, I basically resolved to post every day.  That was unrealistic.  I am happy that I have been able to achieve 4-5 posts per week by sticking to a schedule of weekly features and linkups, which is the main reason driving my success at maintaining such a rigorous posting schedule.  I’m hella organized and I run a tight ship and I’m proud of that.  SO, next year I would like to experiment by throwing in some more unexpected treats like guest posts, video blogs, and maybe the odd giveaway!  Variety is the spice of life, n’est-ce pas?

5.  MOAR ME
so I started this blog as an outlet.  A diary of sorts.  I already said I’m proud of my posting schedule but that leaves little openings for my own personality to shine through.  Granted, my 55-hour a week work schedule (plus homework!) doesn’t allow a lot of time for personality, either.  But going back to number one on this list, I admire blogs where you get a real sense of a person from their website and I would love to be more human through this robot, ya dig?

    • Thank you! I worried that I might sounds self-centered but honestly, I get bored with blogs that are all Pinterest posts and hypothetical outfits. When I'm really engaged with a blogger, I can recognize them from their twitter, their Instagram, and I want to get to know them. So I think (in reference to #1) it's important to emulate what you like in other blogs (without copying exactly!).
