Feeling:  Thankful…(see yesterday’s vlog!) optimistic, and more than just a bit warm (NYC is having a crazy heat wave!)

Watching:  My Big Brother recommended me Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, because I was looking for an old musical and apparently I’m feeling very French lately?  I guess I must be because…

Reading:  I’m currently just starting two books at the same time, both set in Paris!  A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway, because everyone has been raving about it for so long!   And The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy.  I suppose if one can’t visit Paris, one can always make believe with books and movies?

Thinking about:  Why I seem to be coming across testy lately.  It’s perplexing.  I worry that the heat is making me anxious and angry!  I am usually very patient and forgiving, but I noticed snappy impatience in my tone with the Information Booth guy at Grand Central Station (he did give me misinformation, causing me to miss my train), and was short on the phone making my hair appointment next month (no reason whatsoever there!).  Niceties used to come so easily to me, I must strive harder to keep my cool in this heat wave!

Eating:  very poorly indeed.  I’m more out-and-about than usual and meals on the fly are not what I wish they were – it’s hard to find the ideal salad for less than $10 in New York!  My favourite standby for deli meals is soup in a coffee to-go cup, but it’s so hot outside that I am mostly grabbing bagels, pizza, and sandwiches and then feeling awful and sluggish all day!

Looking forward to:  Being DONE DONE DONE with my chest piece!  Not just finished with the needle (last appointment is July 6th!), but done with the healing and aftercare process (the worst part, you know) and back to having a “normal” chest for good! 

After that, I have my yearly vacation to Buffalo, and then, my Big Brother comes to visit!  The whole month of July is one big party, and why shouldn’t it be?  It’s my birthday month!  It all leads up to the big 2-9 on the 31st!

Making me happy:  Everything I have to look forward to!  Exciting new experiences!  Meeting new people and stepping outside my comfort zone!  If this is growing older, BRING IT ON!
